When you look for a mortgage lender to either buy your home or refinance your existing home you are always faced with so many choices that it really becomes a time consuming process. Terms like conformal loan, non-conformal loan, points, PMI, LIBOR, HELOC, etc. etc. are good enough to give anyone headaches. Combine that with tons of options and numbers. Happiness coming with buying a house just evaporates with these stressful options.

You contact your friends/family, scour the internet and finally end up with a list of numbers to call. You start calling them one by one only to get overwhelmed with rates, options and so much other information that you finally feel like giving up.

It becomes a very stressful experience when it could have been a rewarding experience. I don't think that shopping for mortgage should be this stressful.

The mantra is to know the right mortgage lender. Had you known one person/bank/agent who would always give you the best rates and service then you wouldn't have cared to search for other lenders.

When I was looking for a mortgage I would have suffered in the same way but I knew a great agent Barbara Duterte. She really provided me the best service listening to all my concerns and trying very hard to give me the best rates from the start with the best loan products. She never pushed me for any product and she was very knowledgeable. It's very important to deal with an experienced person. Also, I never had to tell her that I am getting a better rate elsewhere as her rates were always the best.

So to help other people who are looking for the mortgage lenders I would provide a list of mortgage lenders in this page. I would list lenders who provide both conformal and non-conformal (traditional) loans. With new FHA backed loan limit going to 729K in high cost area (Yes bay area is one of them) I am sure there would be more interest in new mortgage and refinancing activities.
