I don't think one needs to worry about RSI while investing in a low cost index fund. Since index fund encompasses the entire market you are hardly worried about how many days it went up and how many days it went down.
Use dollar cost averaging while investing in a low cost index fund and enjoy the long term return that no active fund might beat after fees and expenses.
